.... and so much to do! A week today Jo, Mili and I will be on our way to Peru. We are flying to Lima, via Miami, where the girls are determined that they will find a McDonalds for a vegi supersize meal! We will have a few days in Lima before finding a bus to take us on an 8 hour trip up North to Trujillo. We are working in an orphanage there for a couple of weeks before heading further north towards the boarder of Ecuador, where there are supposed to be amazing surfing beaches (girls request! Obviously not the surfing, just the looking and the bathing!) Then backtracking south and take a turn east to navigate our way across the Andes and into the Amazon rainforest. We are headed for Iquitos, which is only reachable by plane or boat. We are hoping that we can find buses and then boats to take us into pretty remote territory.
Ross, the girl's dad lives about 15km from Iquitos , so we are staying there for a week or so, chilling in the jungle and hopefully exploring a bit more of the Amazon, before flying back to Lima. The girls fly home 17th November and I am staying for another 4 weeks where I am hoping to do the Inca Trail and see Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and the south of Peru.
Does all that sound well planned and organised?? Well it is a vague plan, the only thing booked is the orphanage, the rest I am hoping will fall into place. The one thing I know for sure is that it will be an adventure! (oh no, I am biting my nails... I have never bitten my nails!)
Does Peru know whats about to hit it !!!!!!!!!!
